General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)

  • Affiliation – Jharkhand Nurses Registration Council, Ranchi
  • Course Level – General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM).
  • Available Seats – The institute offers 40 seats in GNM.
  • Duration of Course – 3 years
  • Eligibility – Candidate must be at least 17 years old (as on 31st December of the year of admission) Candidate must have cleared 10+2 with 40% marks in English. Candidate must have appeared for Combined Entrance Exam, conducted by J.C.E.C.E. Board.
  • Mode of application – The Prospectus and the Application Form can be obtained from the office of the GGCET St Xavier’s International School of Nursing. The Application Form must be duly filled and submitted along with the following documents.
  • Original Copy of Class X Admit Card, Marksheet and Pass Certificate
  • Original Copy of Class XII Admit Card, Marksheet and Pass Certificate
  • Photocopy of Joint Entrance Rank Card (for GNM)
  • Original Copy of Transfer Certificate
  • Original Copy of Migration Certificate
  • Photocopy of Cast Certificate (if applicable)
  • Latest 8 (eight) copies of passport size photos
  • Photocopy of Aadhaar Card

Important Note:

  1. The application received after the closing date will not be accepted. The School/institute will take no responsibility for any delay in the receipt or loss of application.
  2. Incomplete application in any case will be rejected.

Counselling:

  1. List of eligible candidates for counseling will be displayed according to their merit on the Notice Board of the School.
  2. Number of candidates called for counseling will be twice the number of seats in each category.
  3. Candidates have to appear for counseling on specified dates and report at GGCET ST XAVIER’S INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF NURSING, Dhanbad, Jharkhand.

Admission:

  1. Selected candidates must join on the specified date that will be notified after Medical examination by the Board constituted by the authorities and also must deposit fees and required documents in specified time period.
  2. Candidates who fail to join on the specified date shall automatically stand cancelled candidature of his/hers and their seats will be declared vacant/allocated to next meritorius candidate, as the situation may allow.
  3. In case of non-availability of candidate against reserve seats (SC/ST/OBC, Dependents of Defense/Para-Military Personnel) the seats maybe filled by UR candidates.
  1. She/he has completed not less than eleven months of the course.
  2. A candidate must have a minimum of 80% attendance (irrespective of the kind of absence) in theory classes of each subject for appearing in Examination.
  3. A candidate must secure 50% marks in internal assessment separately in each theory and practical.
  4. A candidate must have 100% attendance in each practical to be eligible to receive completion certificate/diploma by the State Nursing Council Examination Board.
  5. The practical record must be complete, signed by the tutor and countersigned by the Principal before filling up Council Examination Forms. It is the responsibility of the candidate to make sure that his/her practical records are signed.
  6. A certificate of completion of internship will be provided to each student by the Principal before appearing for the examination.
  7. The diploma shall not be awarded to the student till he/she has completed the clinical/field requirements.
  8. Practical examination for GNM will be conducted quarterly (3 months) by the school itself to assess clinical skills, ward management and other professional trends. Marks obtained from these exams will be submitted to the Council which will be added in the overall result.
  9. Certificate by the Council/Board will be issued only after successful completion of the Internship period.

Our students are placed across different branches of Medica and Narayana. Apart from that students are also working at Government Hospitals of Jharkhand, Bihar & Bengal.
